Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Indo-Chinese Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing authentic and innovative Indo-Chinese dishes, with a strong understanding of both Indian and Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavours. For the right applicant, Visa sponsorship would be available.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indo-Chinese dishes such as Manchurian, Hakka noodles, Schezwan fried rice, chilli paneer/chicken, spring rolls, etc.
- Develop new recipes and refine existing dishes to maintain high standards of quality and taste.
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely and consistent manner in line with restaurant standards.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, order ingredients, and minimise food waste.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and assist in training junior cooks.
- Stay updated on current food trends and customer preferences.
Requirements
- Must have full work rights in Australia.
- Proven experience as an Indo-Chinese chef in a busy restaurant or hotel.
- In-depth knowledge of ingredients, spices, sauces, and cooking techniques used in Indo-Chinese cuisine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Food Safety Supervisor FSS Certificate or willing to obtain one.
