The Role Requirements

As a Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and optimise the data flows that power the company’s data and science products. You’ll ensure operational systems are efficiently connected, build scalable pipelines, and support the foundations that enable advanced analytics and product innovation. This role sits at the heart of their data strategy, giving you meaningful ownership over core engineering processes.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and implementing high-quality data flows between internal and external systems
• Leading the build of robust data processing and streaming systems
• Reusing and enhancing existing data flows where appropriate
• Optimising code and infrastructure to ensure high-performance, scalable pipelines
• Managing and improving data storage, database structures, and schema design
• Working closely with product, engineering, and data teams to support fast delivery
• Applying agile engineering practices and contributing to organisation-wide data standards

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience building production-grade data pipelines and integration solutions
• Hands-on engineering skills across modern tooling: Python, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Airflow, Snowflake, Kafka, and API-driven systems
• Ability to combine multiple structured and external data sources into clean, reliable flows
• Understanding of data modelling principles and metadata management
• Ability to diagnose, resolve, and prevent problems across complex data systems
• Confidence defining and maintaining data integration processes across the development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills, including interpreting and balancing stakeholder needs
