Immersive is hiring! Could you be our next Senior Analytics Engineer? Come and join our established UK Engineering team as a Senior Analytics Engineer - We are looking for someone curious, eager to solve problems, and excited to build alongside a collaborative team.

Reporting to one of our Engineering Managers, you will be a key part of building our Immersive One platform. You’ll join a team where we value determination, ingenuity, and pragmatic, reusable technical solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for developing a truly ground breaking product. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our product, working across our entire system landscape.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer you’ll be responsible for collaborating with Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Software Engineers to develop, maintain and refactor analytical data models within our data warehouse. In this role, you will be working as part of a product team and utilise strong technical and communication skills to work cross-functionally to deliver valuable insights to our customers.

We are not just seeking a skillset though - we are looking for someone who will also become an important and vital part of our team, so we seek a driven, curious and collaborative person to become our next colleague.

As a senior individual contributor in the team, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading initiatives on topics such as data quality, observability and model optimisation.
  • Designing, building and maintaining high quality datasets for engineers to build robust customer facing reporting.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers to assess and mitigate the impact of upstream product changes.
  • Applying domain knowledge to develop semantic layers for business intelligence.
  • Developing data models optimized for efficient querying over large datasets, specifically for reports embedded within our main platform.

Success in this role will depend most on your approach, underlying skills and potential for growth, even if some of the above would be new to you. Sounds good? We’d love to hear from you if you have proven experience in the following areas:

  • You are proficient in transforming, testing, and documenting data while maintaining a robust data lineage.
  • You are knowledgeable in data modelling, data access, and data storage techniques.
  • You have experience following software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration.
  • You have strong proficiency using SQL in cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake) and are comfortable with performance optimization, data partitioning, and window functions.
  • You are able to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with only high-level direction.
  • Experience with dbt for data transformation layer.
  • Experience with BI tooling such as Power BI or Looker.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus.
