Transport Co-ordinator

Overview

We are recruiting experienced transport coordinators for a well-established client based in South Birmingham. The role offers a competitive salary, Monday to Friday hours (8 am–6 pm) with occasional overtime, and opportunities for career progression within a fantastic team environment and a fresh building.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of requirements before passing out work
• Build excellent working relationships with drivers
• Coordinate breakdowns
• Manage drivers’ time by assigning additional work throughout the day
• Keep all departments up to date with any issues or delays and manage customer expectations to achieve service levels
• Maintain quality administration and keep all departments informed
• Be aware of individual drivers’ skills and abilities
• Provide out‑of‑hour emergency cover on a rota basis, normally with 54 days
• Meet with drivers to build rapport and outline any issues
• Deal with driver dissatisfaction
• Ensure all work on the system is planned and allocated
• Perform other ad‑hoc duties as required

Requirements

Previous transport experience is required. This is a permanent position.
