About the role
We are looking for a creative, diligent and enthusiastic Marketing Executive to join our team to work across the BBC Gardeners’ World Live. You will be part of the team working across the Craft portfolio, which includes 5 market leading events: The Festival of Quilts (Birmingham), Knit + Stitch (London/ Harrogate/ Northern Ireland) and The Stitch Festival (London). The five craft shows are some of the most successful in the business and you’ll be joining a fun and hard-working team, committed to making the events the best in the market.
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Executive, you will support the marketing team to help execute multi-channel campaigns that drive visitor attendance, engagement, and revenue, with a particular focus on social media management.
Responsibilities
- Campaign Planning & Delivery
- Support the development and implementation of marketing plans to achieve visitor and revenue targets.
- Assist in the execution of integrated, multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, email, PR, partnerships and print.
- Work to campaign timelines and event deadlines, ensuring all activity is delivered accurately and on time.
- Content & Creative Execution
- Produce high-quality, engaging marketing materials and copy tailored to key audience segments.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and tone of voice across all channels.
- Support delivery of event content and features (e.g. talks, workshops, features, exhibitions) within marketing campaigns.
- Digital & Channel Management
- Lead on social media management across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, to deliver year-round engaging content across all events.
- Deliver email marketing campaigns (including segmentation and scheduling) in line with campaign strategy.
- Maintain and update event websites, ensuring content accuracy, strong UX, and alignment with campaigns.
- Support implementation of digital activity including SEO/SEM, PPC, and social media.
- Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Support relationships with agencies, media partners, suppliers, sponsors, exhibitors, and industry organisations.
- Assist with sponsorship materials and delivery of sponsor benefits.
- Liaise with exhibitors to maximise participation in marketing activity pre-, during, and post-event.
- Performance & Reporting
- Support campaign reporting and ticket sales tracking.
- Monitor marketing performance and audience engagement insights.
- Assist in the preparation of post-event reports and performance summaries (particularly in terms of social media insights).
- Onsite Delivery
- Support onsite marketing activity, including capturing digital assets, maintaining social media and looking after partners.
- Ensure smooth execution of marketing-related operations during live events.
Requirements
You are a detail-oriented and proactive marketing professional with strong execution skills and a passion for delivering high-quality campaigns. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively to bring campaigns to life.
You will have:
- Experience in marketing and campaign planning.
- Experience in basic website management.
- Understanding of digital marketing tools and campaigns.
- Understanding of conventional and digital marketing channels.
- Good overall IT skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office.
- Able to think creatively and strategically.
Desirable
- Experience in consumer events or exhibitions.
- Familiarity with marketing platforms such as Adestra or similar email systems.
- Experience in editing social media video content.
- Familiarity with Canva or similar design programmes.
- Interest in craft, art, or creative industries.
