About the role
You'll be working on Fabric, our digital publishing platform, to design and build scalable APIs and AI powered text, audio and video content services, that integrate internal systems with third party platforms. Reporting to the Lead UI Developer, the Senior JavaScript Engineer will be expected to develop, maintain, and support our digital products in accordance with the business and technology objectives.
As a Senior Javascript Engineer, you will:
- Immerse yourself in our technical ecosystem
- Develop and test new features, and support existing ones
- Build reusable code, packages and libraries for future use
- Optimise code for maximum speed and scalability against an agreed performance budget
- Use testing frameworks to ensure automated test coverage for platform functionality
- Collaborate with other team members Delivery Manager and Product Owner to help plan new functionality or major enhancements
- Write and improve technical documentation when necessary
- Developing JavaScript APIs and services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Working with Node/TypeScript within large-scale projects
- Distributed systems, scalability and cloud architecture (preferably AWS)
- Building and working with mixed data formats (structured and unstructured) and storage (e.g. blob storage, MySQL, Document Storage)
- Building and integrating with RAG pipelines
- Building and maintaining multi-step workflows and processes orchestrated by AILLM integration patterns
- Implementing AI solutions using AWS, or an equivalent, such as:
- Model access and orchestration e.g. Amazon Bedrock
- Vector and semantic search e.g. Amazon OpenSearch
