As a Product Designer, you are a champion of the voice of the customer. You research and design high-quality, digital experiences that solve key pain points and opportunities and build trust with and create habit for customers through effortless, engaging journeys and consistent and delightful brand expression. You’ll bring proven experience in UX and UI design and possess strong communication and collaboration skills. Confident in user testing, insight and optimisation, you'll use data and learning to continuously improve digital experiences at all stages of the product development lifecycle.
You will work on app and web products across Immediate’s portfolio of brands – including Radio Times, Good Food and History Extra – and work backwards from their customer and/or business problems to craft the right design solutions.
As a Product Designer, you will:
- Product Design Thinking: Conduct research with potential and existing customers – through various approaches to user testing and surveying (moderated/unmoderated usability testing, surveys, card sorting etc.)
- Utilise and design new features and interactive flows for our mobile apps & web platforms
- Develop design direction for branded mobile apps and websites, from a user experience (UX) perspective, alongside the Lead Product Designer
- Think about how the mobile & web product design supports delivering long-term value
- Strive for experimentation, innovation and the best interaction design to optimise mobile and web experiences and deliver the most impact and delight to customers
Advocating Customer Centricity (designing for people)
- Have experience leveraging AI tools as part of research and design to help make processes efficient and effective and accelerate design ideation
- Collaborate with Lead Product Designer UX/UI on customer research planning and execution
- Collaborate with the Lead Product Designer UX/UI, Lead Product Designer – Design Systems, and other product designers to explore and experiment with up-to-date mobile and web UX design to support customer engagement pathways (missions and tasks); also collaborate to ensure thinking and solutions are seamless and consistent, and that they support user journeys, missions for the here and now, and future, multi‑channel, multi‑brand products and features
- Collaborate with other team members – e.g. Brand representatives, Product Managers, Product Delivery Managers and Developers – to feed into product requirement documents, soundcheck UX/UI design iterations, and check designs against product roadmap, scope, and timings
Robustness & scalability of Product Design:
- Have your eyes on the market landscape to be up to date on best practices for mobile and web interaction
- Implement best mobile & web product design approaches from a UX/UI perspective to achieve the best design solutions
- Enact quality and robustness in mobile & web product design process, execution, and practice
- Follow processes and methodologies that are up to date and evolve for the better
- Be hands-on to rationalise and test mobile and web product design assets
- Collaborate on high-fidelity design completion with more senior product designers through to development delivery
- Ensure consistency to the core of our mobile app and web UI pattern library (working with our Lead Product Designer – Design System)
Requirements
- Comfortable working in end-to-end design – from research and conception to launch and optimisation whilst collaborating within cross-functional teams and supporting agile ways of working, whether iterating against ongoing product roadmaps or launching MVP and Beta products
- Proven experience with a range of user research and testing methods (such as surveys, interviews, usability testing for example)
- Be able to clearly articulate user flows and wireframed design choices and how they support identified user missions
- Experienced in participating in design thinking-style workshops
- Be able to iteratively produce strong research and design outputs – such as user research analysis, user flows, wireframes, and low- and high-fidelity prototypes
- Experience working alongside developers in an iterative way as part of an Agile team
- Experienced in design and collaboration tools (Figma and Jira/Confluence)
- Familiarity with iOS and Android Product Design
- Mobile Material Design experience
- Familiarity with using AI as part of research/design processes
