Immediate is home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer brands in the UK, including Radio Times, Good Food and BBC Gardeners World magazine. Our trusted, quality content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps and live events. We’re the destination for people looking to get more from the things they love. We’re here to inspire, fuel, encourage and educate.

About the role

This is the key acquisition marketing role at IM for two of our most well-loved brands, Gardeners' World and History Extra. You'll own subscriber acquisition strategy across digital and print, working at the heart of a matrixed organisation as the go-to acquisition voice for these brands, turning genuine audience passion and engagement into sustainable, repeatable growth. You'll work closely with brand, product and channel execution teams to shape the funnel, influence pricing, and balance new customer volume with long-term subscriber quality.

As an Acquisition Marketing Manager you will:

  • Own acquisition strategy and delivery for GW and HEX, spanning print and digital subscriptions, delivering against subscriber volume, CAC and LTV targets.
  • Act as the primary acquisition owner for these brands, building great relationships with stakeholders across the business including Brand teams, Product & Tech and Performance Marketing.
  • Proactively gather content plans, and brand opportunities from stakeholders, identifying how to amplify them for acquisition and leading the briefing process for required assets with internal Design & Editing teams.
  • Work closely with the Performance Marketing team on Paid Social, Paid Search and other performance channels, briefing campaigns, agreeing budgets and ensuring the right creative and assets are in place to deliver against plan.
  • Bring innovative thinking to the acquisition funnel, identifying how strong content engagement (e.g. HEX podcast audiences) can be converted into repeatable growth engines.
  • Support on pricing and offers strategy, striving always to find the right balance between new customer volume and long-term revenue.
  • Work with Product and Tech teams to feed back on how the subscription product and stack can be improved to drive acquisition of high-quality subscribers.
  • Own reporting on acquisition performance for GW and HEX, proactively producing and presenting results and insights to stakeholders across the business.
  • Identify and pursue new acquisition opportunities, including funnel diversification and channel expansion.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in acquisition marketing for consumer subscription brands.
  • Good knowledge of key digital performance channels, such as Meta Ads and Google Paid Search.
  • Comfortable working with in-depth performance data, using it to drive insights that shape and evolve acquisition strategy.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work across a matrixed organisation and coordinate effectively across brand, product and channel execution teams.
  • A track record of driving growth through innovative thinking and implementing new ideas, rather than just running existing playbooks.
  • Proactive, highly organised & self-starting - comfortable taking a brief and running with it.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to report and present results clearly to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
