Summary: Directs and coordinates all activities of the Structural division in Nationwide Locations. Duties include providing up close and detailed leadership of the Structural Division workforce performing repairs to U.S. Navy Ships and Submarines at public and private shipyards, structural fabrication services, and turn‑key operations in support of customers performing ship repair, ship‑fitting, pipe repairs, and fabrication services to the U.S. Government. Directly engaged in all aspects of Structural Division estimating, job scheduling/planning, job execution, safety, and financial performance. Monitors and ensures all training, development, and testing programs are effective and procedural guidance is adhered to.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in cost and price reviews of work being estimated for bid to customers. Activities will include reading specifications, contract guidelines, blueprints, and material requirements specifically required to meet project requirements.
- Participate in Project Status Reporting (PSR) regular reviews. Ensure project execution results are aligned to budgets, contract requirements, and schedule. Take immediate actions with Project Managers to course correct as needed.
- Maintain current bid tracker for structural division and ensure all bids are reviewed and approved and submitted on time.
- Seek out and win work at best price practical to support regional sales/gross margin targets.
- Foster and maintain customer relationships both personally and via direct reports to maintain and expand the customer base in all regions.
- Coordinate development/maintenance of accurate regional Current & Probable/Line of Balance predicting workforce surges up and down.
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee the planning, administration, staffing, daily operations, and financial performance of all structural projects company wide, including project staffing, scheduling, and equipment deployment plans.
- Responsible for overall quality and management of structural projects.
- Designate management and supervisory resources for the job with regional Superintendents and production experts, and input from the Structural Vice President.
- Promote “smart resource sharing” between projects at Superintendent level.
- Evaluate regional workload at the project level and oversee staffing and scheduling. Make adjustments, as needed, for effective use of in‑region resources and elimination of surpluses/deficits.
- Oversee status of equipment maintenance program. Ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and at the ready at all times.
- Ensure the Trades Manager is supported in recruiting, training, and retaining core work forces suited to the different market segment needs, including recruiting and hiring local skilled, semi‑skilled and unskilled workers.
- Oversee all aspects of contract administration.
Supervisory Responsibility
Direct oversight of the Structural Production Managers, Project Managers, NDT Inspectors, Structural Superintendents and Fabrication Teams.

- Ability to synthesize and analyze complex and diverse information.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve critical issues in a timely manner, particularly those related to the structural integrity of maritime vessels.

- In‑depth knowledge of standard safety and security procedures related to equipment and materials.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, mathematics, or a related field required or equivalent experience.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of management experience of structural or pipe projects on Navy ships and/or Navy new construction projects.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of management experience with direct supervisory responsibilities.
- A proven track record of success in demanding roles in fast‑paced environments.
