Job Title: Health, Safety, Environmental & Facilities Lead – Worthing, West Sussex
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About The Role
We’re seeking a capable and committed Health, Safety, Environmental & Facilities Lead to take ownership of all HSE and facilities activity at our IMI production manufacturing site in Goring, Worthing. As the sole HSE and Facilities resource on site, this is a hands-on and highly visible role, ideal for someone confident working independently while also collaborating with global teams.
This role reports directly to the General Manager and has a dotted-line connection to our global Life Science HSE team, providing access to shared expertise, tools, and support.
Living locally is advantageous due to the on-site nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all health, safety, environmental, and facilities operations at site level
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations and IMI internal standards
- Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the Goring site
- Manage contractor relationships and oversee building maintenance and services
- Set KPI’s, Track and report HSE performance metrics; contribute to improvement initiatives
- Liaise with global Life Science HSE colleagues to align with broader strategy and share best practices, some global travel will be required
- Support accident/incident investigations to drive a continuous improvement of all processes.
- Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
- Support and drive sustainability and environmental improvements on site
Required Skills And Experience
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) – Essential
- Previous experience in an HSE and/or Facilities role, ideally in a manufacturing or technical environment
- Good knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Proactive, organised, and confident working independently
- Experience operating at this level is advantageous but not essential – we welcome applications from those ready to step up and grow
- Support the HR department with the HSE induction process during onboarding and HSE training requirements throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Ensure the availability of suitable material, resource and safety equipment across the business unit required for the effective operation of HSE regulatory requirements.
