The Opportunity: We are looking for a QC Inspector to join our Quality team, ensuring that machined components, assemblies and finished products meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy and compliance. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality teams, you will carry out detailed inspections throughout the production process, supporting the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Shift Options: Day Shift, Double Days Shift (2 weeks earlies / 2 weeks lates)
What You'll Be Doing:
- Inspect machined components, sub-assemblies and finished products against engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Use a range of inspection equipment including hand-held measuring tools, CMMs, comparators, surface plate equipment and gauging systems.
- Witness product testing and verify final documentation prior to release.
- Carry out Goods Inward inspection activities, including Positive Material Identification (PMI) where required.
- Complete inspection records, reports and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Support calibration activities for gauges and test equipment.
- Identify and escalate quality issues, supporting corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
About You: We're looking for a quality-focused professional with proven inspection experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. You'll ideally have:
- Significant mechanical inspection experience or a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CMM inspection techniques and quality documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge quality concerns when required.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude, strong organisational skills and a desire to learn and develop.
It would be great if you had:
- NDE qualifications (PCN Level 2 in Visual Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection or Weld Inspection).
- Experience of calibration systems and methods.
- Experience working in customer-witnessed inspection environments.
- Experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS and/or Aberlink CMM programming.
- Willingness to undertake further training and gain additional inspection qualifications.
