Role Overview
As Manual Lathe Setter Operator, you will produce components to specified drawing tolerances and quality standards within IMI Thompson Valves operations. This role requires machining expertise and a logical approach to achieve production efficiency and targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Select the correct tooling and holding devices for manufacture from the tool sheets.
- Prove out proven/unproven programs.
- Manufacture to correct drawing specifications.
- Carry out own first off inspection.
- Complete feedback tickets of set and run times.
- Maintain production targets.
- Check and complete the necessary quality documentation.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain Lean principles.
- Ensure tooling and gauging are maintained to a high quality.
- Take reasonable care of your own Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire (SHEF) safety.
- Ensure you do not put at risk the SHEF safety of others.
- Co‑operate with your employer, or any other person, with duties relating to SHEF safety.
- Liaise with Production Engineers when required to ensure maximum productivity.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as reasonably required.
