The Video Journalist/Editor will join our international editorial team based in the UK. This role is central to creating compelling, fact-based video content that brings a Middle Eastern perspective to global audiences across both digital and broadcast platforms. From filming high-impact interviews and events to scripting and editing powerful stories, you'll be part of a team that values editorial integrity, creativity, and innovation in multimedia storytelling.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in video journalism for a respected news outlet
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, or related field
- Film interviews, b-roll, and live events using professional equipment
- Script and edit video stories with clarity, accuracy, and editorial consistency
- Collaborate across editorial, production, and social media teams to enhance audience engagement
- Contribute additional multimedia elements (photography, captions, short text) as needed
- Operate effectively in high-pressure, field-based or breaking news scenarios
- Strong shooting/editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent)
- Experience with motion graphics, mobile journalism, or drone videography is a plus
- Strong understanding of digital storytelling and audience-first video formats
- Excellent written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)
- Familiarity with CMS, newsroom tools, and metadata best practices
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
