IMH Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Subject Access Caseworker for our client in Tameside (OL6). This is a temporary position within the Information Governance team, supporting the handling of Subject Access Requests (SARs). You will support the Information Governance team to ensure SAR requests are handled accurately and within legal deadlines. The role will mainly involve working on Children’s Social Care SARs, which can often be complex and detailed.
Duties will include:
- Harvesting, reviewing and redacting records prior to disclosure
- Processing Subject Access Requests (SARs) in line with legislation
- Applying legal exemptions and third-party redaction where appropriate
- Supporting council services with guidance on SAR responses and redaction
- Ensuring responses are completed within strict statutory deadlines
- Using IT systems and Microsoft Office to manage information and data
Essential Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs (A–C / 4–9) including Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Experience processing Subject Access Requests, ideally within local government
- Basic DBS required
- Experience with redaction and third-party data
- Good understanding of data protection legislation and guidance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience working in a busy office environment
- Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
Desirable:
- A Levels or Degree (or equivalent)
- Experience handling Children’s Social Care SARs
Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Friday (working hours confirmed at interview)
- Pay: £16.53 – £17.95 per hour depending on experience
- Contract: Temporary
- Working pattern: Hybrid (home and office working)
- Pay: Weekly pay whilst working through the agency
