IMH Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Market Officer to work with our client in Kirklees. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of local markets across Huddersfield and Dewsbury.
Key Duties
- Assisting with the set up and take down of market stalls
- Carrying out heavy manual handling and physical tasks
- Cleaning public areas including public toilets
- Performing heavy-duty cleaning and dealing with biological hazards when required
- Supporting general market operations across different locations
- Carrying out basic maintenance tasks (e.g. replacing locks, handles, bulbs, plugs and fuses)
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for early starts and travel between locations)
- Must be able to work flexible shifts across 7 days, including weekends
- Physically fit due to heavy lifting and manual work
- Willing to undertake medical health screening due to the physical nature of the role
- Willing to clean public toilets and carry out heavy-duty cleaning
- Able to travel between different market locations
- Own steel toe-capped boots with ankle support and waterproof jacket (other uniform provided)
- Cleaning, security or health & safety experience is desirable
Hours & Pay:
- Shifts can start as early as 6:00am and finish as late as 7:00pm
- Weekend work is required (included within the hourly rate – no enhanced weekend pay)
- Full training will be provided including health and safety
