IMH Recruitment are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer on behalf of our client based in Halifax (HX1). This role provides essential business support to ensure the Local Authority meets its statutory obligations under the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice 2014, and The Change Programme linked to the National SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy. This is a hybrid role, balancing working from home with attendance at a designated council workplace, with occasional visits to other sites as required. There may also be a need for some work outside standard flexible working hours, including evenings, to support service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing incoming EHC needs assessment requests
- Inputting data into the Local Authority Capita system and generating task timelines
- Recording new requests and statutory deadlines on Excel, including identification assessments for pilot schemes
- Circulating information to key stakeholders in line with The Change Programme
- Delivering high-quality and consistent business support using strong ICT skills
- Accurate data processing using standard ICT tools and specialist systems
- Managing the SEN team’s general email inbox and responding professionally
- Providing support to colleagues across the wider business support team
Requirements
Essential:
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English & Maths, or demonstrable equivalent experience
- A clean Basic DBS is required for this role.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business administration
- Demonstrable experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to statutory deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable:
- Level 2 (or above) qualification in Business Administration
- Understanding of children with additional needs/SEND and their families
- Business Support or administrative experience in a SEN environment
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday (typically between 8am–5pm; however, exact hours to be confirmed at interview)
- £14.82 per hour
- Weekly pay while working via the agency!
