We are currently recruiting for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety / Maintenance Officer to join a well-established manufacturing and operational environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, maintaining safe working practices, and overseeing site maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, inductions, and toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Deliver Health & Safety training and support staff development.
- Monitor compliance with COSHH regulations and safety documentation.
- Coordinate equipment servicing, inspections, testing, and certification.
- Support fire safety, first aid coordination, and emergency preparedness.
- Carry out routine building and site maintenance inspections.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs and manage external contractors when necessary.
- Assist with waste management and energy monitoring initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports for management.
Requirements
- IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications (essential).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Hours and Pay
From £33,000 annually D.O.E
4 day working week: Monday - Wednesday 6am-4pm, Thursdays 6am-3pm, Fridays - Sunday off.
