The H&S / Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing health, safety, and compliance across all sites. The role requires a proactive, positive, and open-minded approach to continuously improve H&S standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain H&S and compliance standards across all sites
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet legal and company requirements
  • Provide training and support to staff to maintain H&S culture
  • Liaise with regulators and external bodies as required
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and environmental management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a heavy industry environment (waste & recycling, mining, quarrying, or similar)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or above (mandatory)
  • Environmental qualification such as WAMITAB Level 4 (desirable)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence positive change
  • Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused

Details:

  • Working hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
  • Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum
  • Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays
  • Pension: Standard company scheme
  • Travel: Expenses reimbursed
