IMH Recruitment are currently seeking a Class 2 Driver / Highways Operative to join our client based in Mountsorrel, LE12. This role involves surface dressing, winter gritting, snow clearance and general highways maintenance duties. Full training will be provided.
Main Duties:
- Driving Class 2 vehicles and specialist highways equipment
- Surface dressing and resurfacing work
- Winter gritting and snow clearance
- Setting up and removing road signs, cones, barriers and traffic management
- Operating machinery including rollers, gritters and spreaders
- General highway maintenance and emergency response work
- Carrying out vehicle checks and basic maintenance
- Working safely in all weather conditions
Requirements:
- Valid Class 2 (LGV) licence
- CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Clean driving licence preferred
- Experience within highways, construction or civil engineering is beneficial
- Ability to work outdoors and complete physical work
- Good understanding of health & safety
- Flexible to work nights, weekends and standby shifts when required
Desirable Qualifications:
- NRSWA qualification
- NVQ Level 2 Highways Maintenance
- Winter Service Operations qualification
- Telehandler or plant licences
Pay & Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Overtime, night work and standby duties may be required during winter periods
- £14.59 - £16.35 per hour.
