We have an exciting opportunity to join our Studios business as a Live Operations Supervisor on a permanent basis. This is an incredible opportunity to work with prestigious clients such as the Formula 1, UEFA, CBS and Wimbledon!

This is a technical and rewarding role where you will be responsible for assisting IMG facilities to deliver their technical television requirements. You will be a key player in ensuring things run smoothly and efficiently for our clients and that all their production needs are met.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • To ensure the smooth running and high quality of service for all Live operations.
  • Ownership of the Live Operations with IMG Studios.
  • The supervision of MCR operators, Engineers, and relevant freelance staff.
  • To be the point of reference for Live Operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work closely with the Live Technical Operations manager to ensure the smooth running of Live operations.
  • Liaise closely with the Delivery Operations, commercial and engineering teams to ensure that the clients are supported, pre, during and post events.
  • Ensure that Live Operations and technical facilities meet client requirements and expectations.
  • Highlight potential issues and offer solutions to provide the required services.
  • Ensure all interested parties are fully informed regarding any issues that arise and suggest steps to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Creation of reports when incidents arise and distribute to all relevant parties.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient knowledge and skill base available throughout the Live Operations team.
  • Document and communicate technical and operational procedures.
  • Document and communicate operational issues.
  • To be an approachable and highly knowledgeable point of reference for all aspects of Live Operations for IMG Studios and clients thereof.
  • Recommend operational improvements to the Live Operations department.
  • Recommend potential technical strategies for the Live Operations department.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in technical role within broadcast, ideally engineering or live gallery/broadcast/transmission operations.
  • A technical mind-set and strong problem solving skills.
  • Supervisory experience in regard to people and clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of technology and working methods.
  • Extensive experience in a live television environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of TV production processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Post Production workflows.
  • Demonstrated established and commercially productive relationships with clients and service.
  • A strong communicator.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a permanent position.
  • This role will be based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge.
  • Working hours are 9:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday with shift patterns included as part of the role.
  • May be required to attend (and travel to) locations, including other IMG buildings and meetings, or to industry events and work on-site for the duration of an event, as necessary.
  • Unsocial hours and weekend work may be required, as dictated by the demands of the business schedule.
