  • Hours of Work: Average 40 hrs per week on shift basis
  • Contract Type / Length: Permanent
  • Location: Stockley Park, Uxbridge (free on-site parking)
  • This is a shift-based role working 7 x 12 hour days per fortnight.
  • Working at weekends is expected.
  • Night shifts may be required as part of a project.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To provide proactive support and maintenance services for very busy live studios, post production and transmission facilities.
  • Supporting the Lead Engineer in helping to provide fast and effective solutions to issues that may arise in a live studio transmission.
  • Supporting clients in IMG’s facilities.
  • Working as part of a dynamic engineering team towards engineering developments and special projects within IMG.
  • You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job.
  • Maintaining all paperwork required to make sure the department runs efficiently.

Key Results Areas:

  • Successful maintenance and technical support in Studio, Post Production and Transmission Services.
  • Supporting senior and engineering management.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a TV Facilities or Broadcast Engineer within studio, transmission, and post-production environments.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast production workflows, including live sports, news, or similar fast-paced production environments.
  • Solid knowledge of broadcast and IT/IP infrastructure, including standards such as ST 2110, AES67, and NMOS.
  • Expertise in at least one specialist technical area within broadcast engineering operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a production engineering environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, and communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to a range of personalities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to urgent technical challenges.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide creative solutions in real-time.
  • Experience communicating technical issues, updates, and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive approach to identifying, anticipating, and resolving technical issues.
  • Relevant broadcast engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • General education to at least A Level standard or equivalent.
  • Positive, helpful “can-do” attitude with strong interpersonal awareness and diplomacy when dealing with clients and on-air talent.
