Cingularity is a highly specialised global fibre network provider enabling premium live broadcast TV transmission. Our obsession with quality, performance, and network resilience has allowed us to deliver services for companies including Amazon Prime, Warner Brothers Discovery, and ATP Media, where we are trusted to carry live TV signals for their global audiences. Cingularity was acquired by IMG Media in September 2022 to guide IMG\’s remote production evolution towards a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud, and IP.
We are seeking a Dedicated TOC Network Engineer to provide expert technical support, monitoring, and operational management for services delivered under a contract with a major British football league, utilizing Cingularity\’s global network and IP platforms. Based at IMG Studios, Stockley Park, this role is crucial for ensuring the high-availability delivery of content for this league, including world feeds, matchday feeds, and related services to global broadcasters, mainly during live match days. Working within the 24/7 Technical Operations Centre (TOC), successful candidates will become subject matter experts on the specific network, video, and monitoring technologies used for this high-profile contract. These fixed-term roles require a strong blend of network and broadcast engineering expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to perform under the pressure of live, tier-1 sports broadcasting.

What You\’ll Do:
Technical Operations & Monitoring
- Coordinate and execute all technical aspects of live transmissions for the client contract, including service check-in, configuration validation, active monitoring oversight, and check-out procedures.
- Perform continuous, expert-level monitoring and proactive management across network, video, and system domains daily. Key areas include:
Network:
- Monitor the Cingularity core network (NetInsight Nimbra DTM & Arista IP) and edge devices using various monitoring systems, such as Nimbra Vision and Zabbix.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot IP transport streams (IP RTP, ST 2022-7, SRT) and network routing/switching (Arista, OSPF, BGP).
Video:
- Monitor client video service quality using Multiviewers and specialised probes (TAG MCM/MCS, Bridgetech VB330).
- Perform daily configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of core video encoding platforms (Mediakind, Appear, NetInsight MSR).
Systems:
- Monitor health and performance of servers and operating systems (Linux, Windows) using Zabbix and Grafana.
- Respond to system alerts and troubleshoot as needed.
• Provide customer support via phone, email, and talkback, addressing service issues and collaborating with partners and suppliers.
• Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
• Complete provisioning of new services, including occasional use services.
Incident Management & Resolution:
- Resolve service issues impacting the contract, from investigation to resolution, across network, video, and system domains, minimizing impact.
- Log, analyze, and report incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Contribute to post-incident reviews and improve incident management and disaster recovery plans.
Process, Documentation & Improvement
- Review and document TOC workflows, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, documentation, and incident logs.
- Follow change management procedures for all modifications.
- Assist in upgrades, patching, and security hardening across the network, video, and system infrastructure.
- Evaluate new technologies to enhance TOC capabilities.
Team Contribution
- Participate in team rotas for match days and support activities.
- Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Evaluate new tools and systems to improve capabilities.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
- Proven experience as a Network or Broadcast Engineer in live broadcast or media transmission.
- Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows, especially in live sports.
- Hands-on experience with IP networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, Multicast, ST 2022-7, SRT).
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (Cisco, Arista, Net Insight).
- Experience with professional video encoders (Mediakind, Appear).
- Experience with video monitoring tools (TAG, Bridgetech).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios).
- Proficiency in Office 365 or G-Suite, with excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service record.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills across network, video, and system domains.
- Ability to develop and follow operational processes to high standards.
- Motivated, organized, and flexible to work unsociable hours.
Advantageous:
- Experience with Net Insight Nimbra MSR/DTM, Arista EOS, Techex TX Edge.
- Hands-on experience with Mediakind Encoders, Appear Encoders, TAG MCM/MCS Probes, Bridgetech VB330 Probes.
- Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Understanding of video/audio encoding (MPEG-4 AVC, HEVC) and stream analysis.
- Fibre optic technologies and troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux; MacOS is a plus.
- Experience with booking and automation systems (e.g., MediaPulse).
