Working Conditions:

- Hours of Work: Shift pattern, 7 day fortnight - Average 40 hours per week

- Position is shift based, which includes weekends / public holidays. Shifts are 12hrs, 07-19, 10-22, 13-01.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
As one of our Technical Operators, you will be working as part of a team to provide media ingest, file delivery, media management and edit suite support to all creative production teams. You will need strong communication and personal skills as this role is client facing and you will be working with productions to support their projects from ingest to delivery. We are looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail and a positive, proactive outlook. Previous experience of working in a technical role in either a Broadcast or post-production environment is preferable, and the understanding of editing and file-based media management / workflows would be a distinct advantage. However, specific training will be provided.
The Media Services Area (MSA) at IMG Studios serves as the hub for all ingest, recording, editing/operational support, media management and file transcode and delivery, using the latest industry standard equipment. The department is staffed 7 days a week, 18 hours a day. Our role as a department is to provide front line editing support to all of IMG productions, whilst carrying out all tasks requested to the client’s specification in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that all media is ingested, formatted, and delivered correctly based on client’s specification
- Transfer, archive, and duplication of analogue and digital assets across a variety of formats
- Organizing and Recording of live programming
- Front line edit suite support
- Liaise with the MSA Shift Manager about deadlines and workflow decisions
- Report any equipment issues within the MSA department
- You may also be required to carry out any other duties which are within the scope and purpose of the job
Key Results Areas:
- Professional and efficient service is provided to all productions and clients of IMG Studios
- Edit media is correctly formatted and located as per the client’s specifications in keeping with deadlines
- The needs of the MSA department are effectively supported
Person Specification:
Knowledge and Experience:- Working knowledge of Avid / Adobe Premiere
- Previous experience working in a technical role in either a Broadcast or Post-production environment.
- Good understanding of file-based workflows
- Broad knowledge of industry standard file formats and codecs and their uses
- Good understanding of the Post-production process
- Experience with encoding software, such as Media Encoder, Content Agent, Vantage and GV File/Snell.
- Excellent organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent interpersonal skills (when to employ tact, diplomacy, discretion)
- Use of own initiative and ability to work well as part of a team and alone without close supervision
- Previous experience of working to tight deadlines and working effectively under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven knowledge of post-production workflows and equipment/software
- Excellent time management - reliable and punctual
