Who We Are: At IMG, our Studios business uses content and technology to power the world's passion for sport, working with global clients including The Premier League, The R&A, DP World Tour, Euroleague Basketball, and Major League Soccer. We have built Europe's best-connected broadcast centre at Stockley Park, London, distributing 35,000 hours of content globally and creating some of the world's best sporting coverage. Our facilities include four broadcast studios, fifty edit suites, and various radio, podcast, dubbing, and VFX facilities, with specialties in remote production and carbon reduction through our Green to Screen initiative. We cover live coverage, archive, highlights, social media, branded content, and feature films, providing audiences with front-row access to the best sports worldwide.
What You’ll Do: IMG Studios is a premier production centre with state-of-the-art studios, post-production, and live operations facilities. It includes 4 HD broadcast studios, 9 production galleries, 3 dubbing suites, 50 edit destinations, 3 radio studios, an award-winning 3D Graphics & Visual Effects team, and one of the largest digital media and broadcast data centres built recently. The Master Control Room features 5 transmission suites and monitors over 200 HD lines. With its own satellite farm and direct links to leading UK sports stadia, IMG Studios is central to sports and entertainment production and distribution.
We seek a technical enthusiast and career-driven Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our engineering team on a permanent basis. We are also open to experienced Broadcast Engineers aiming to advance their careers, with opportunities to take on more responsibility, project ownership, mentoring, and ticket management. The successful candidate will ensure the operation of our diverse broadcast systems across IMG Studios, including live galleries, studios, post-production, and transmission. It is essential that you have a keen interest in emerging technologies and are prepared to assist senior staff with in-house broadcast projects, installations, and finding alternative technical solutions in a dynamic environment.
Please Note: This is a full-time, permanent role based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge, requiring work on a 7-day fortnight shift pattern, including weekends, unsocial hours, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
- Providing proactive support and maintenance for busy live studios, post-production, and transmission facilities.
- Collaborating with senior engineers and other departments on support issues, prioritizing mitigation and investigating root causes.
- Having a deep understanding of broadcast systems, camera tech, vision mixers, audio consoles, control room operations, shared data storage, transmission, and post-production systems.
- Contributing to engineering developments and special projects within IMG.
- Supporting the Lead Engineer in delivering quick and effective solutions during live studio transmissions.
- Mentoring engineering staff and freelancers, promoting good practices.
- Supporting clients at IMG facilities, organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Maintaining necessary paperwork for departmental efficiency.
- Carrying out system changes following change management procedures, including project work and fixes.
What You Will Have:
- Extensive operational experience as a TV Facilities Engineer, with knowledge of studio, transmission, and post-production equipment and workflows.
- Strong understanding of IT and broadcast IP infrastructure such as 2110, AES 67, and NMOS.
- Specialist engineering skills in areas like live gallery/studios, transmission, post-production, or encoding.
- Excellent knowledge of production engineering environments.
- Proven relationships with clients at all levels.
- Experience in Outside Broadcast is advantageous.
