Working Conditions:

  • This is a 3-year fixed term contract.
  • This role is based at our facility in 28 Hanbury St, London E1 6QR.
  • You will be required to spend a considerable amount of time away supporting global events.
  • You must have the ability to work unsociable and extended hours as required to cover sporting events.

What You'll Do:

Cingularity is seeking an Event Engineer from broadcast focused backgrounds to join its events team to help pave the way during our company’s development and expansion over the coming years. As an Event Engineer, you will join the team responsible for on-site monitoring, supporting, maintaining, and implementing customer solutions for live broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Pre-Event Staging and Testing: To pre-stage and test equipment for the events. Create, read, and interpret schematic and topology drawings based on customer requirements. Engagement with end customer on pre-event meetings and discussions to ensure event success.
  • On-site at Events: To setup the event and perform all appropriate testing prior to transmission. To monitor event-based equipment and associated customer video and data services. To provide direct support to customers on-site. Working with partners and suppliers as required via phone and email for service issues and other enquiries. To ensure that all daily events are logged so end of day reports can be produced after each day’s transmissions.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Engineering Capabilities: Ability to work under pressure on live broadcast events. Ability to work long hours in line with live event transmission schedule. Excellent problem-solving skills whilst on-site at event-based broadcasts. Ability to follow engineering and technical diagrams to rig onsite event solutions. Knowledge of live TV Broadcast environments and workflows.
  • Technical Knowledge and Experience: Proficient in making co-axial and ethernet (RJ45) cables. Excellent knowledge of baseband video (SD-SDI, HD-SDI, UHD), audio, video routers and multiviewers. Knowledge of optical fibre-based technologies with the experience of deployments and troubleshooting. Understanding of MPEG encoding/decoding (AVC/HEVC). Understanding of JPEG2000. Familiarity with Net Insight products (Nimbra MSR, VA/N414) is desirable. Ability to apply basic network configurations to equipment. Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting of data/telemetry services. Experience working as an event-based Broadcast Engineer or similar role. Full Driving Licence.
