Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Financial Controller role is a hands-on finance position responsible for all controllership activities for IMG Commercial entities in Americas (including its branches in France, Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, PIMGSA & PIMGSA Holdco. This role will take ownership of finance activities and ensure local & group reporting requirements are met, processes are fit for purpose, as well as streamlined and efficient. The position also plays a key role across internal controls, budgeting and supporting the annual group audit process.
- Financial reporting & Analysis:
- Managing all aspects of the general ledger and ensuring accounting practices are in compliance with company’s policies
- Ensure strong communication with the broader IMG finance teams, as well as legal, tax and treasury to ensure accounting positions are appropriate and financial statements accuracy
- Ability to lead, direct & guide the team, including necessary training and supervision to achieve the collective and individual goals.
- Lead and own relationship with any third party advisors and ensure appropriate advice received to support decision making
- Responsible for the period-end accounting and timely group reporting across IMG Commercial entities mentioned above including various quarterly reporting packs, Transfer pricing calculations/estimates, and tax submissions.
- Being responsible for broader IMG’s US GAAP requirements such as Embedded Derivative calculations, Quarterly balance sheet net downs, Commitments schedule.
- Supporting the wider controllership function in identifying, proposing and embedding best practice
- Contribute to the effective operations of IMG’s control environment, where applicable.
- Ensure timely reporting of all significant accounting transactions, implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos to support all accounting positions.
- Ownership of statutory audits and ensuring compliance requirements are met, including local statutory accounts, tax reporting & 1099/1042.
- Point of contact for the offshore shared service team (WNS) for activities related to those entities.
- Responsible for entity cash flow forecasting and liaise with treasury to ensure funding requirements are met.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with HR and 3rd party providers to ensure payroll and benefits payments are made on time.
- Ensure HR related expenses are reviewed and recorded correctly.
- Ad-hoc project work as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Progressive experience in audit and accounting (Big 4 preferred)
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with ~5+ years PQE
- Strong technical accounting skills, including drafting accounting papers
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience operating SOX controls
- Strong understanding of financial processes (close, reporting, controls)
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of IFRS / UK GAAP
- Team management experience
- Experience in a global organisation
- Industry exposure to media or sports rights
- Familiarity with SAP and OneSource Tax Provision
