Cingularity is a highly specialised global fibre network provider enabling premium live broadcast TV transmission. Our obsession with quality, performance, and network resilience has allowed us to deliver services for companies including Amazon Prime, Warner Brothers Discovery, and ATP Media. Cingularity was acquired by IMG Media in September 2022 to enhance IMG’s remote production capabilities through a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud, and IP.
We are seeking a Head of TOC to lead and transform Cingularity's 24/7 global Technical Operations Centre (TOC) into a world-class operation, ensuring flawless delivery of premium live broadcast services and fostering innovation. The role involves managing all video and network services across global networks, maintaining high standards of quality, performance, and resilience. You will drive process improvements, optimize operations, and support growth and evolving service needs for both video and network services.
Please Note:
- The role is hybrid, with time split between the office and home.
- Primary office located at 28 Hanbury Street, London, E1 6QR.
- International travel required at least once a year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership & Team Management: Manage and mentor the TOC Network Engineers, oversee daily operations, staffing, training, and HR processes.
- Service Delivery & Quality Assurance: Ensure flawless live transmissions, exceed client expectations, manage service bookings, and develop performance metrics.
- Technical Oversight & Incident Management: Lead troubleshooting, incident analysis, develop disaster recovery plans, and participate in complex technical discussions.
- Process Optimization & Documentation: Review and improve workflows, maintain documentation, and ensure change management adherence.
- Technology Strategy & Implementation: Contribute to long-term technical planning, evaluate new technologies, oversee implementation, and collaborate on system architecture.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Work with external vendors to resolve issues and evaluate new solutions.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Use monitoring tools to proactively identify issues and develop reporting systems for clients.
Candidate Strengths:
- 5-7+ years in a technical leadership role within a 24/7 broadcast or NOC environment.
- Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows, video/audio encoding, transmission, routing, TCP/IP networking.
- Leadership skills, strategic thinking, performance management.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Operational process development experience.
- Proficiency with Office 365 or G-Suite, especially Excel/Sheets.
- Flexibility for unsociable hours and managing live broadcast pressures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Net Insight MSR platform, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), fibre optics.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, MacOS, booking and automation systems.
- Degree in engineering, telecommunications, or related field.
- Python scripting skills.
