About our opportunity
We’re looking for a Mechanical MultiSkilled Fitter to join our Refining maintenance team at Fal Valley Refinery. This is a hands on role within a fixed plant industrial environment, delivering planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. You’ll work closely with engineering, maintenance and operations colleagues, supporting equipment reliability, installations and process improvements — all while operating to high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
It’s well suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in faultfinding and problem solving, and wants to continue developing their skills in a supportive, experienced team.
What you’ll be doing
Maintenance & fault finding- Carrying out corrective, breakdown and preventive maintenance on fixed plant and associated systems (including pipework)
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults, with exposure to electrical and instrumentation systems
- Supporting equipment installations and process modifications
- Working in line with Imerys Safe Working Rules, procedures and guidance
- Maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Ensuring safe, clean and hazard free work areas at all times
- Providing engineering support across maintenance and operations activities
- Working comfortably in environments involving work at height and confined spaces
- Contributing positively to a collaborative, practical site culture

What you’ll bring
Essential- Mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or process environment
- NVQ Level 3 in Multiskilled Engineering (or willingness to work towards this)
- Knowledge of pumping and processing systems
- Strong health, safety and environmental awareness
- Be able to legally drive in the UK
- Electrical and/or instrumentation competency
- Industrial, mining, refining or heavy manufacturing experience
- Welding experience (MMA / MIG; TIG advantageous)
