Location: Fal Valley Refinery, Central Cornwall

Salary: up to £36,993.56 DOE

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm (37.5 hours)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Reporting to: Site Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Multi‑Skilled Fitter to join our Refining maintenance team at Fal Valley Refinery. This is a hands-on role within a fixed plant environment, supporting maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement activities. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure plant reliability and safe working practices.

What you’ll be doing

Maintenance and fault finding
  • Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on plant equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
  • Support equipment installations and modifications
Safety and compliance
  • Follow site safety rules and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain safe, clean and organised working areas
  • Support compliance with quality and environmental standards
Teamwork and site support
  • Provide engineering support across site operations
  • Work safely at height and in confined spaces where required
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment

What you’ll bring

Essential:
  • Mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or process environment
  • NVQ Level 3 (or willingness to work towards)
  • Knowledge of plant, pumping or processing systems
  • Strong health and safety awareness
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
  • Electrical or instrumentation knowledge
  • Experience in heavy industry, mining or refining
  • Welding skills (MMA, MIG or TIG)
