The Position Power Distribution Technician Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power Distribution Technician to join our team, supporting the operation and reliability of our High Voltage (HV) Power Distribution network across Cornwall and Devon.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out breakdown response, preventative maintenance, and planned maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the network.
You will undertake network modifications, fault finding, repairs, and the installation and replacement of HV switchgear, helping to maintain critical infrastructure and minimise downtime.
In addition to supporting the HV network, you will play a key role in maintaining the site's Fibre Optic Communications Network and internal CCTV systems, ensuring reliable connectivity and security across multiple locations.

What You'll Be Doing Perform regular maintenance across the Imerys Power Distribution Network, including substations, overhead lines, and switchgear.
Handle the installation of new transformers, overhead lines, and switchgear as required.
Execute installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the Imerys Fibre Network.
Manage fault finding, maintenance, and installation for the CCTV Network.
Deliver precise cable location services to support business operations.
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Possession of an electrical indentured apprenticeship qualification or its equivalent.
Proven experience or a strong willingness to undergo training in the installation and maintenance of both HV and LV distribution systems, encompassing protection systems, metering, and cable jointing/termination.
Extensive background in three-phase industrial wiring, motor control circuits, and general electrical maintenance.
A valid, full driving licence, with trailer-towing capabilities considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
Capability to operate effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Comfortable performing duties in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Flexibly prepared to work overtime or outside regular hours when necessary.
