The predicted salary is between 36300 - 38200 £ per year.

Salary: £42,378.77 - £45,440.20 per year depending on experience (including shift pay). Additional chargehand payment will be added to the salary once initial training is complete and the ability to work independently has been demonstrated.

Hours of work: 38.5 per week, Day and night shifts across a 4-week rotating shift pattern:

  • Day Shift:
    • Week 1: 7am - 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
    • Week 2: 7am - 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
  • Night Shift:
    • Week 3: 7pm - 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
    • Week 4: 7pm - 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role: Joining our experienced team, you'll be carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs and breakdown resolutions on fixed plant equipment. The more common activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance and diagnostics to a wide range of fixed plant equipment
  • Fault finding and repairs on electrical panels and instrumentation
  • Supporting other Imerys sites in Cornwall
  • Sourcing / ordering materials
  • Being responsible for time sheets and holidays
  • Ensuring prioritised tasks are being dealt with and making necessary changes to the priority plan if required

The role will include working from height and in confined spaces.

You will:

  • Have a maintenance engineering background within a heavy industrial environment with electrical and mechanical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment.
  • Have an NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering maintenance
  • Have some experience of pumps, centrifuges, burners/furnaces/gas as well as welding skills
  • Legally be able to drive in the UK
  • Have good IT skills
  • Have a high level of health, safety and environmental knowledge and awareness
