The Position
Job Summary

- Salary: up to £38,500 (plus applicable overtime and allowances where required)
We are currently recruiting an ICA / Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Rocks site in Cornwall. This role provides electrical, instrumentation and control (ICA) support across key plant and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations. The position is primarily site‑based at Rocks, with occasional support required across the wider Drying function. It is well suited to an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys hands‑on maintenance, fault finding and working closely with operations in a safety‑critical environment. If you are trained in industrial electrical maintenance and are looking to develop your skills in instrumentation, control and automation (ICA), this role offers an excellent opportunity for on‑the‑job training and progression.

The Job Role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing electrical, instrumentation and automation support for key plant and equipment at the Rocks site
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to corrective and breakdown maintenance activities
- Fault finding and diagnosing electrical and instrumentation issues to determine effective repairs
- Ensuring right‑first‑time maintenance to prevent repeat failures
- Completing maintenance reporting, handovers and root cause investigations
- Using SAP for work order management, spares booking and materials sourcing
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory control systems and ISO14001 maintenance records
- Completing Take 5 pre‑job assessments, including ARB and ARC reporting
- Working safely at all times in line with Imerys safe systems of work, risk assessments and EHSQ requirements
- Liaising with site engineering, operations and cross‑site engineering teams to prioritise work effectively

You will:
- Have a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Be confident in fault finding and resolving electrical issues
- Be able to install and electrically connect equipment safely
- Be keen to develop your ICA skills as required within this role
- Be IT‑literate, with experience using CMMS systems (SAP desirable)
- Have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small team
- Work safely with a strong focus on health, safety and environmental compliance
- Be comfortable working in confined spaces and on chemical dosing systems when required
- Support, and lead, small projects as/when required within the role
Qualifications & Experience:
- Indentured or Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (Level 3) in a relevant engineering discipline
- ONC / HNC or equivalent qualification desirable
- Valid license to drive in the UK
- Mechanical skills to support larger maintenance tasks are advantageous
