Location: Newton Abbot, United Kingdom

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Night shift only: 22:00‑06:00 Sunday night to Friday morning

Salary: £28,499.48 per annum + £4,453.80 night‑shift allowance

Job Summary: This role is responsible for operating production equipment safely and efficiently, including shredding, blending and milling plant, as well as mobile plant. You will ensure production output targets are met, maintain high safety and housekeeping standards, and work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams. Approximately half of each shift is spent operating a front‑end loader shovel.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate shredding and blending equipment safely.
  • Operate the front‑end loader shovel.
  • Operate attritor mills following safety and quality procedures.
  • Complete pre‑shift inspections and operate mobile plant (FLR training provided).
  • Perform level‑one maintenance and report equipment defects.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Meet production deadlines and ensure product quality.
  • Follow all HSE protocols and report incidents promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Valid loading shovel licence.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT competence.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental protocols.
  • Industrial experience is preferred.
  • Safety focused with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts.
