The role
The successful candidate will lead the development of modern web applications and cloud-based software systems supporting Imersual's AI platform. Working closely with AI engineers, product designers, and technical leadership, you will design scalable software architecture, develop production-ready applications, and integrate machine learning services into customer-facing products. This is a senior technical position requiring excellent software engineering experience and the ability to mentor junior developers while contributing to long-term technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain React and Next.js applications.
- Develop backend services using Node.js and ASP.NET Core.
- Design RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
- Integrate AI models and external APIs into production software.
- Develop cloud-native applications deployed on AWS.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments using Docker.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to integrate machine learning workflows into production systems.
- Improve software architecture, maintainability, and application performance.
- Lead code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical planning and architectural decision‑making.
- Work closely with product management to deliver high-quality software releases.
- Produce technical documentation where required.
- Support software testing, debugging, and release management.
- Contribute to long-term platform scalability and security.
Applicants should demonstrate substantial commercial experience in software engineering, including:
- Minimum five years' professional software development experience.
- Strong commercial experience with React.
- Experience with Next.js.
- Experience developing backend applications using Node.js.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core or similar backend technologies.
- Experience integrating third‑party APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Experience using Docker.
- Experience working with Git‑based workflows.
- Strong understanding of software architecture.
- Experience with Agile software development.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
