The main focus will be supporting our Wick Office Design group with new designs, updates of existing systems and providing technical support to the sales and manufacturing teams. The position in the first instance is to be part of a team, or act as Lead Engineer, for assigned projects. Additionally, assist with performing technical design reviews, and checks on the new designs to help ensure that the systems are delivered to specification, on time and to budget.
Responsibilities:
- Design of hardware systems using analogue and digital electronics.
- Preparation of technical specifications for projects.
- Ensure all schemes conform to the design intent and include necessary supporting calculations.
- Provide technical support to other engineers, project managers, sales and manufacturing.
- Be a part of our team that strive to develop and improve our capabilities.
- To understand and apply relevant design, regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- BEng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Electronic design including circuit design, embedded programming and micro controller with a preference towards C.
- Experience of IP Video Management Systems and optical design desirable.
- A knowledge of EMC requirements would be advantageous.
- Keen technical and manufacturing background with good all-round awareness.
- Abilities to work in a team and to take initiatives independently.
- Able to plan, prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
