We’re IMD Solicitors LLP — a modern, multi-award-winning law firm, proud to be named one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work and recognised by Legal 500.
About the role
You’ll be joining our Corporate & Commercial team (IMD Corporate), working on a broad range of corporate matters for UK and international clients, including founders, investors, scale-ups, and established businesses. This is a senior, hands-on role. You will be trusted to run matters independently, think commercially, and deliver work to a high standard with minimal supervision. Commercial contracts experience is an advantage, but strong corporate capability is essential. The work is varied, often complex, and frequently cross-border. You won’t be siloed. You’ll be expected to think, adapt, and step into new challenges with confidence.
This is a genuine opportunity to:
- work on sophisticated corporate transactions and advisory matters
- take real responsibility and ownership of client relationships
- contribute to business development and profile-building
- progress, in time, towards partnership for the right person
This role is for you if:
- You are 5+ PQE (Associate / Senior Associate level) in Corporate law
- You have experience across a wide range of corporate matters
- You are comfortable working independently and making sound judgement calls
- You are not afraid of new or unfamiliar work and can research, learn, and deliver to a high standard
- You have been actively involved in business development and building your professional reputation
- You have some level of client following or demonstrable BD success, with ambition to grow this further
- You value culture, humility, and team-first behaviour as much as technical excellence
This is not a role for someone who needs constant hand-holding. It is a role for someone who takes responsibility, enjoys trust, and wants to build something meaningful.
How we hire (and why this matters)
At IMD:
- Humility is non-negotiable
- Emotional intelligence is required
- Ego has no place here, regardless of seniority or following
- We hire builders, not takers
- Values and attitude come before titles
- Technical excellence matters.
How you (and everyone in our team) behave matters more.
What’s in it for you:
- 4-day week – 100% salary, 80% time
- Fully remote, with optional office access in Manchester, London, or Birmingham
- Supportive, no-politics culture built on respect, honesty, care, and excellence
- High autonomy with genuine trust
- Clear long-term progression, including a realistic path to partnership
- Small firm, serious work – big on innovation and efficiency
- Health & wellbeing package – Paycare health plan, life insurance, and regular team events
