The purpose of the role is to help develop and grow existing business within the UK Medical Convertor Industry. Managing a wide range of product lines, project development and new opportunities for both key and new customers alike; you will be working closely with both International Market Managers and local product managers within the IMCD Advanced Materials Group Network.
Your responsibilities at IMCD:
- To develop a strategy in line with budget expectations
- To establish and develop commercial and technical activity with UK medical moulders
- Identifying and canvassing new Customer and Principal targets
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including design and innovation houses, OEMs, medical moulders, internal IMCD UK and Group teams and suppliers.
- Developing and managing a comprehensive product portfolio for existing and new product lines
- Working alongside European Affiliates to realise group strategy
- To handle product enquiries and business opportunities, and to contact customers directly
- To monitor relevant sales to ensure that the correct level of profitability is maintained
- To ensure that all price increases are implemented on time, and in accordance with our processes
- To seek and follow through new business opportunities at accounts, and prioritise these accordingly
- To fully update CRM and pipeline platforms ensuring digital optimisation.
- To support existing activity at design houses.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company and gather market intelligence.
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required
Ideal Candidate:
- Have a strong technical and commercial background, ideally gained through experience within the UK Convertor Market
- Previous experience within the medical sector is desirable.
- Be academically qualified with a degree in polymer chemistry or related subject or minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Have proven Sales Skills: Understanding and navigating customer needs, offering added value selling to all stakeholders at all levels.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
- Negotiation Skills: effective communication, problem-solving, assertiveness, flexibility, preparation, and a win-win mindset to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- Networking: Building and maintaining relationships with partners, clients, and industry stakeholders
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies for revenue growth
- Be self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working from home, expected travel commitment 40-60%.
- Market Innovation: Understanding current market and customer needs, identifying new business opportunities, and predicting future market trends. Be ahead of the curve.
- Regulatory: Understand regulatory needs relating to product application, polymer, supply chain for both current and future implications.
- Driving licence is essential.
