IMC Locums are recruiting on behalf of a leading private healthcare provider in London for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join a Paediatric Neuro-rehabilitation & Complex Care inpatient service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly specialised paediatric setting, delivering complex, long-term care to children with neurological and complex health needs. The service is CQC rated Good and is part of a well-established private healthcare organisation.
As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a key leadership role on the ward, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the service. You will act as a clinical role model, supporting and mentoring junior staff and stepping into a shift-leading role in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and evaluate high-quality, child-centred care for patients with complex neurological needs
- Lead shifts and support junior nurses, students, and healthcare assistants
- Act as a clinical expert within paediatric neuro-rehabilitation and complex care
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop holistic care plans
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities
- Ensure safeguarding principles are embedded into daily practice
Essential Requirements
- NMC registered Children’s Nurse (RN Child / RSCN)
- Immediate Paediatric Life Support (PLS)
- Proven experience within Paediatric Neuro-rehabilitation and/or Complex Care
- Experience of shift leadership, supervising staff, and assessing students
- Strong understanding of safeguarding
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience contributing to audits and clinical governance
Desirable
- Experience caring for tracheostomised patients
- Teaching and mentoring qualifications or experience
