IMC Locums are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Band 7 Locum Cardiac Physiologist to support our Cardiology service in Hampshire. The postholder will perform a wide range of complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures independently, including echocardiography, exercise tolerance testing, and device follow-up. The role requires autonomous practice, specialist knowledge, and clinical leadership within cardiac investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) to BSE standards.
- Conduct and interpret exercise tolerance tests (ETTs), Holter monitoring, and 12-lead ECGs.
- Carry out pacemaker and ICD checks (follow-up and reprogramming as required).
- Support the implantation and follow-up of cardiac rhythm management (CRM) devices.
- Assist in the delivery of specialist cardiac clinics (e.g., valve, heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all investigations using relevant IT systems.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff and students.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant governance, safety, and infection control policies.
- Participate in audit, quality assurance, and service development initiatives.
