We are currently recruiting for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist Microbiology to join a busy NHS laboratory in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing microbiology department processing a large volume of routine diagnostic samples.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist (or eligible for registration prior to commencement).
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Biomedical Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- A minimum of 4 years post-registration/postgraduate experience working exclusively within a routine Microbiology laboratory.
- Previous experience in a high-volume hospital laboratory, such as an NHS, government, university teaching, or tertiary referral hospital or large Private laboratories based in the UK.
- Confident working independently across all areas of routine microbiology.
Experience Required
- Processing high volumes of routine microbiology specimens.
- Culture, identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
- Reading and interpreting routine culture results.
