Role Summary
Responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities within the crude oil, products and gas sectors. This role involves strategic planning, relationship building, market analysis, and negotiation to expand the company's presence and revenue. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Business Unit leader to align business development initiatives with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Direction: Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan; motivate people to commit to these tenets and achieve local business goals.
- Business Development: Participate in formulating the strategy and identifying, evaluating, and structuring key transactions to ensure continued financial health and maximum value creation.
- Business Planning: Develop and propose annual business plans, ensuring alignment with strategy; recommend financial and headcount budgets; propose business targets.
- Needs Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders.
- Strategic Partnering: Manage a significant segment of strategic partnering, ensuring robust partner identification and relationship building.
- Performance Management: Manage and report on performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders and reacting to their needs.
- Market Access: Build and optimize relationships with external and internal stakeholders, translating strategy into expanded value creation opportunities.
Experience
Over 10 to 15 years experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
Educational Qualification
Master's Degree or Equivalent Level
