Imagine Communications is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team. This role is responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats across enterprise environments, while contributing to the continuous improvement of security controls, tooling, and operational processes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding organizational and customer assets by supporting incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring initiatives in a dynamic, cloud-enabled environment.
- Security Monitoring & Threat Detection
- Monitor and enhance security monitoring and detection capabilities
- Investigate alerts and triage security events to assess severity, impact, and risk
- Identify, analyze, and escalate suspicious activity or potential security incidents
- Incident Response
- Lead end-to-end incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery
- Perform root cause analysis and ensure findings are clearly documented
- Maintain accurate incident records in accordance with internal policies and audit requirements
- Vulnerability & Risk Management
- Support vulnerability scanning programs and remediation tracking efforts
- Assist with vulnerability prioritization based on business and technical risk
- Partner with IT and engineering teams to ensure timely remediation and risk reduction
- Security Tooling & Automation
- Administer and optimize security tools, including EDR, and vulnerability management platforms
- Develop and tune detection logic to improve quality and reduce false positives
- Threat Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
- Leverage threat intelligence to enhance detection and response capabilities
- Identify opportunities to improve security processes, controls, and operational maturity
- Support internal security awareness initiatives and knowledge sharing across teams
About You
- 3–6 years of experience in Information Security or Security Operations (SOC)
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
- SIEM platforms and alerting methodologies
- Endpoint Detection & Response (Microsoft Defender)
- Vulnerability management tools (Qualys)
- Strong understanding of:
- Network security fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Common attack techniques and threat vectors
- Incident response frameworks and best practices
- Experience analyzing logs across multiple environments (Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or OCI)
- Proven ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or OCI)
- Familiarity with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
- Industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- CISSP or equivalent
