Imagination are working with JLR on an exciting role based in Imagination's Coventry office. The Product Manager role will sit within JLR Motorsport which is within the CEO/Corporate Affairs and Motorsport function of JLR and is responsible for the strategy, planning and delivery of successful motorsport activities for both Jaguar and Land Rover brands. The Jaguar brand is currently active in motorsport through Jaguar TCS Racing competing in the FIA ABB Formula E World Championship. JLR Motorsport expanded its remit in 2025 through an exciting new international motorsport programme with the Defender Brand. Competing as Defender Rally, we are currently active in the Stock category of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).

The Product Manager role is an important part of the team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of team kit and apparel across both Jaguar TCS Racing and Defender Rally programmes. This role oversees the full lifecycle of teamwear; from concept and design through to production and distribution, ensuring performance, brand alignment, and operational readiness. In addition, the role plays a key part in developing and executing commercial opportunities related to team apparel and merchandise, supporting brand growth and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write effective and compelling project briefs and brief internal teams
  • Develop timelines, project proposals and run projects
  • Work with the team to plan wider resources effectively
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility through effective proposal costing, budget development and timely reconciliation
  • Hone commercial skills such as revenue maximisation and cost management
  • Understand clients, competitors, market, products and strategy
  • Ensure schedules are adhered to and project documentation is complete
  • Delegate to, manage and oversee the team
  • Demonstrate understanding of services and be able to sell these effectively
  • Demonstrate successful onsite management and delivery ensuring projects reflect briefs and meet objectives

Responsibilities in detail; Team kit & Apparel

  • Lead the development and delivery of all team-wear, including team wear, travel kit, and branded apparel.
  • Manage the full process from initial design concepts through to final production and delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison with apparel suppliers, ensuring quality, timelines, and cost control are met.
  • Maintain detailed timelines and ensure on-time delivery across multiple programmes ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
  • Coordinate fittings, sizing, and distribution for all team personnel across both programmes.
  • Ensure all apparel meets performance, safety, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Have inventory oversight to ensure accurate order volumes and stock levels are maintained.

Supplier & Production Management

  • Build and manage relationships with external suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Oversee sampling, prototyping, and production approvals.
  • Monitor production schedules and proactively resolve delays or issues.
  • Manage budgets related to apparel production and procurement.

Brand & Design Alignment

  • Ensure all teamwear aligns with brand guidelines and sponsor requirements.
  • Collaborate with partnerships and brand teams to integrate partner branding effectively.

Commercial & Merchandise Development

  • Identify and develop commercial opportunities within team apparel and merchandise.
  • Support the creation of fanwear and retail collections aligned to team branding.
  • Work with commercial and Brand teams to bring products to market.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy, product positioning, and go-to-market plans.

Operational Support

  • Support race and event logistics relating to apparel.
  • Support distribution of team wear to team members.
  • Maintain oversight of inventory tracking and stock management.
  • Ensure contingency planning for critical kit items.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven experience in apparel/product management, ideally within sports, motorsport, or performance environments.
  • Strong understanding of garment production processes and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing external suppliers and production timelines.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in merchandise or product-based revenue streams.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-performance environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Building and delivering client presentations.
