Group Financial Controller β Maternity cover
Fixed Term Contract Operations β Finance & Commercial
The Group Financial Controller role is a key position within the finance team, responsible for oversight of Group reporting, systems, and key stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.
You will have ownership of the reporting systems and timetable, working closely with regional finance teams to manage their input to the group consolidated results. Key external stakeholders include auditors, tax advisors, and bankers.
This is a standalone role that works closely with the Group Chief Finance Officer and global finance teams. It is broad in scope and variety, suited for a confident self-starter who is comfortable operating at a senior level and in the detail required to produce consolidation and analysis.
You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines and established reporting routines. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, process-oriented, and committed to seeing tasks through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Oversight of finance systems includes:
- Banking
- Reporting
- ERP (for Group co.)
Monthly reporting includes:
- Group consolidation (P&L, BSheet, and Cashflow)
- Reforecast consolidation and reporting pack
- Reconciliation and analysis
- Group company P&L + Balance sheet report and analysis
- Review of monthly UK payroll and management of Payroll manager
Lead and manage audit:
- Liaison between auditors and regions
- Support regional teams as necessary
- Prepare Group Statutory Financial statements
Budget & forecast responsibilities include:
- System maintenance, roll forward, updates
- OPEX budgets from Group to regions
Treasury/Banking tasks include:
- Quarterly reporting/covenant review
- Manage Group co currency balances, buy & sell currency as required
- Payment approvals as necessary
Tax responsibilities include:
- Oversight of all tax considerations for Group
- Contact point (with local finance as required) for other tax advisors/requirements
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintain trial balance of Employee Benefit trust
- Ad hoc tasks as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- ACA Qualified with extensive experience in Group Finance Control
- Experience in a marketing agency or people-focused operation
- UK Group reporting experience
- Familiarity with WIP, % completion, and profit recognition
- Experience with Deltek Maconomy is highly advantageous
- Oversight and primary contact for audit
- Treasury monitoring in a multi-site and multi-currency environment
- High-level MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Access
