The predicted salary is between 54000 - 84000 £ per year.

The PowerVR team produces the world's leading family of ultra-low power GPU IP cores. We are scaling our architecture team and are looking for GPU experts to help define the future generations of PowerVR GPU architecture. In this role, you will work closely with the company's senior leadership to define the roadmap of our GPU family and deliver the architecture of our next-gen GPUs. You will:

  • Work with a passionate team of GPU architects focused on efficiency
  • Understand industry trends and their impact on GPUs
  • Gather ideas and requirements from stakeholders
  • Specify and deliver detailed architectural features
  • Analyze and produce solutions meeting power, performance, area, and bandwidth requirements
  • Collaborate with research to map algorithms to efficient implementations
  • Work with modeling teams to evaluate ideas and set performance targets
  • Define a technology roadmap that improves PPA and features each generation
  • Assist in design and verification during implementation
  • Review data with performance teams to validate implementations
  • Participate in reviews and suggest improvements
  • Influence our long-term technology roadmap
  • Liaise with customers and standards bodies like Khronos
  • Patent your inventions

Requirements:

  • Experience with GPU architecture or similar complex systems
  • Understanding of modern 3D graphics and compute APIs (Vulkan, D3D12, OpenCL)
  • Knowledge of digital ASIC design methodologies
  • Ability to plan and track work independently
  • Experience in architecture exploration and specification
  • Understanding trade-offs in design and verification
  • Strong communication skills for technical issues and decisions

Additional skills that are a plus:

  • Maths and algorithm skills
  • Experience writing micro-architecture specifications
  • Performance analysis skills
  • Understanding of functional safety standards like ISO26262
