The predicted salary is between 6000 - 7000 £ per year.
This position is salaried, non-exempt, and seasonal. The annual compensation for a full school year (September to May, Monday through Thursday 8:30am – 11:30am) for this position ranges from $7,395 to $8,700, commensurate with experience. All school breaks off (roughly following the RCSD and BSD schedules).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Teaching certification and/or degree in early childhood education or related fields preferred.
- Candidates must have an awareness of the unique needs of young children.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, encouraging, and willing and able to provide patient and supportive guidance to enhance the learning process for our students. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and provide support to students in varying circumstances that include but are not limited to bathroom, sickness, etc.
Teachers must take First Aid/CPR training before the start of the job, along with NYS Mandated Reporter Training and Anaphylaxis Training (both online).
The lead teacher will prepare lesson plans appropriate to the age and needs of the assigned group of children (i.e. circle time and art). Teachers will participate in leading circle time. Teachers are responsible for the daily setup and cleanup of their classroom. Teachers will assist children in conflict resolution and help children to acquire basic skills and knowledge.
Teachers are required to conference with each set of parents once during the school year, as well as being open to communication with parents on an as-needed basis, to ensure expectations are met for children's educational and developmental needs. Teachers will attend regular staff meetings held monthly. Teachers will participate in recommended training programs/courses and other activities that ensure professional growth. This position may be filled by two candidates as co-leads.
