Imaginate and Good Chance are partnering to offer a new opportunity for someone with experience of forced displacement to join the Imaginate team supporting the delivery of the Children’s Summit. This is a paid role within Imaginate’s Creative Development team.This partnership with Good Chance's Stage Door 11 programme means the selected candidate will be part of an exciting cohort of trainees from across the UK.
- Salary: £3,954.30 (£24,479.00 pro rata); fixed-term PAYE contract including pro rata holiday pay, sick pay and 5% pension contribution
- Duration: 21 weeks: w/c 18 January 2027 - w/c 7 June 2027

- Location: this post will have a base at the Imaginate office (30b Grindlay Street, EH3 9AX) plus other Edinburgh locations such as Forthview and Granton Primary Schools
The Participation Assistant (PA) will support the delivery of Imaginate's Children’s Summit taking place as part of Edinburgh International Children’s Festival which runs from 29 May to 6 June 2027. They will work alongside the Children’s Rights & Participation Manager, Lou Brodie, to support children at Forthview and Granton Primary Schools to plan and deliver the Summit.
They will also have opportunities to participate in some of the creative development projects at Imaginate depending on their interests. This could include for example observing artists making new performance work in rehearsals, taking part in workshops, observing selection panels, attending Imaginate company meetings and events, and seeing theatre and dance productions for children.
The PA role will include the following tasks, all of which will be supported by Imaginate staff:
- attending workshops with children
- collaborating on the design and delivery of workshops with the children
- taking part in project planning meetings
- researching artists for the children to consider for the Summit
- researching venues available for the Summit
- supporting the creation of content for presenting to the children
- attending child protection training
- participating in debrief sessions and capturing feedback from children
- attending Imaginate Team Update Meetings and other meetings of interest
- attending Imaginate team Children’s Rights teach-ins
