We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and ready for use. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff and helping to maintain a smooth operation throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Sanitizing: Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment. Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, ensuring they are returned to their proper places in a timely manner. Ensure all kitchen waste is disposed of properly and the kitchen area is kept clean and clutter-free.
- Assisting Kitchen Staff: Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks (such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients). Help with the delivery and storage of food items, ensuring all items are stored according to food safety standards.
- Stock Management: Assist in receiving deliveries and checking stock, ensuring that items are correctly labeled and stored. Keep track of kitchen supplies and notify the manager when stock levels are low.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals, safety equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure the kitchen adheres to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- General Support: Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and notify the manager of any maintenance issues. Support the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently.
