We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gas Detection / Instrumentation Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of fixed and portable gas detection and instrumentation systems at customer sites. You will ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service fixed and portable gas detection and instrumentation systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and functional testing of equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Provide technical support and training to customers where required.
- Complete service reports, calibration certificates, and other documentation accurately and on time.
- Work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through excellent communication and professionalism.
- Support the wider business and be flexible enough to undertake other activities to support a growing small business.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in gas detection, instrumentation, or related electronic service engineering.
- Strong understanding of sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good IT and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Formal qualifications in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation Engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Experience working in industrial, utilities, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ATEX or hazardous area equipment.
