Could your NHS experience open a new door? At iM Med, we know that some of the best people we could hire for this role may have never held a sales job title. If you have spent your career working in decontamination, sterile services, endoscopy, infection control or as a nurse — you already understand the environments, the pressures and the products that matter. We think that knowledge is invaluable, and we want to help you put it to work in a new way.
We are looking for a Portfolio Sales Specialist based in the UK Midlands to join our growing consumables team. This is a field-based role working with NHS Trusts and hospitals across the UK, introducing them to iM Med's range of infection control and decontamination products and building lasting relationships with the people who use them every day.
About iM Med
iM Med are decontamination specialists. We support NHS Trusts and hospitals with an extensive portfolio of infection control and decontamination products, solutions and services — from the installation and servicing of large decontamination capital equipment to the supply of specialist consumable products used within endoscopy and sterile services departments. We pride ourselves on service excellence, quality products and customer choice, all in the interest of patient safety.
What the role involves
You will be responsible for growing iM Med's consumable product sales across your territory. Day to day, that means:
- Building relationships with decontamination leads, sterile services managers, endoscopy teams and procurement contacts across NHS Trusts and hospitals
- Introducing new customers to the iM Med product range through a combination of hospital visits, phone calls, emails and attendance at exhibitions and events
- Developing a thorough understanding of customer needs and matching the right products and solutions from our portfolio
- Managing your own territory — planning visits, tracking opportunities and keeping accurate records in our CRM system
- Preparing quotations and supporting tender responses
- Working closely with colleagues across the iM Med team to share knowledge and support business growth
What we are looking for
You do not need a sales background. What we are looking for is someone who:
- Has direct experience of working in a decontamination, sterile services, endoscopy or infection control environment — whether as a decontamination lead, CSSD technician, endoscopy nurse, theatre nurse or similar
- Understands how NHS Trusts and hospital departments operate, and is comfortable engaging with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
- Has a genuine interest in moving into a commercial role and is motivated by targets and results
- Is confident communicating — face to face, on the phone and in writing
- Is self-motivated and comfortable working independently across a geographic territory
- Holds a full, clean driving licence
Previous sales experience is not required. Full product training will be provided. We will support you in developing the commercial skills needed to succeed in this role. What you bring — your clinical knowledge and your understanding of the NHS — is exactly what we need.
What we offer
- A competitive base salary with a highly attractive incentive scheme
- Company car or car allowance
- Full product and sales training
- Ongoing professional development and support
- The opportunity to build a long-term career in medical device sales, backed by a specialist and well-regarded company
How to apply
If this sounds like the right next step for you, we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV to hr@im-med.com. If your experience matches what we are looking for, we will be in touch to arrange an informal conversation in the first instance.
